School safety is no longer just about responding to crises; it is about preventing them through structured, consistent, and collaborative threat assessment. Superintendents and district leaders across the state have identified a critical vulnerability: the lack of a unified protocol. We can mitigate fragmented communication between schools, mental health professionals, and law enforcement that put campuses at risk by making sure that we are all speaking the same language. This session explores the critical shift from reactive security measures to proactive threat management. Attendees will learn the foundational concepts of the Colorado Threat Assessment & Management Protocol (CTAMP) and discover how standardizing practices across multi-disciplinary teams creates a seamless, reliable safety net for all students.
