In this hands-on workshop, teachers will play with Mflow, a free, publicly available tool created at the University of California, San Diego that helps students discover computational thinking through sound. Mflow is easy to learn and fun to use: students can build rhythms, create sound stories, and make ideas come alive through sound. Because it is highly adaptable, teachers can bring Mflow into many subjects, not just music or computer science. Teachers from all grade levels and content areas can benefit from this session. Not only is MFlow a tool for creative instruction, but as a bonus, it’s also a tool to help meet technology-focused RANDA quality standards! Presented by Victor Minces, creator of Mflow, neuroscientist of music, and sound artist.
