Amy Miglinas, a Michigan native, has called southwest Colorado home for nearly 29 years. Amy has dedicated her career to improving the educational landscape for students and school staff alike. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Career & Technical Education from Western Michigan University, a Master's degree in School Counseling from Adams State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. With two decades of dedicated service in the educational landscape, Amy has built a career centered on the safety and well-being of students and staff. Her journey spans roles as a classroom teacher, school counselor, high school principal and state agency leadership, providing her with a 360-degree perspective on school operations and student wellbeing.In her current role, Amy specializes in training and consulting with schools on critical areas such as violence prevention, threat assessment, suicide risk reduction, and fostering a positive school climate through bullying prevention and mental health integrated emergency operations planning.
