About me
Veronica is a COMTSS Specialist for the Office of Learning Supports at CDE and has a passion for classroom management techniques that build positive, predictable, and productive learning environments while helping teachers rediscover joy in their practice. She has been a resident of the San Luis Valley for more than 20 years and taught in the Monte Vista Public School District for 18 of those years. Veronica brings two decades of classroom experience in elementary music, math and reading interventions, and online instruction.In addition to her K–12 experience, Veronica served as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Adams State University, teaching Elementary Music Methods for Music Education majors. She has presented for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Orff Schulwerk Association, the SLV COMTSS Summit, the SLV Educators Conference, CDE CoLabs, and the SLV PBIS Community of Practice on the power of a positive classroom environment. Veronica is currently supporting South Conejos School District’s implementation of Schoolwide PBIS within the COMTSS framework.With nearly two decades of leadership in Schoolwide and Classroom PBIS and a nearly a decade of COMTSS leadership at both the state and regional levels, Veronica is deeply committed to supporting teachers in their work to foster student growth, engagement, and success.
